What a great tool for brainstorming and peer tutoring! I can see the benefits and the controversy behind this. This would be great for collaborating on the same paper. Also, for hypothesising on a science project. It could even be set up for peer critiquing. So that the person critiquing would comment on another student's work and then adds his/her own work.
The controversy of anyone being able to add "grafiti" is huge. Very scary, with so many preditors. I think as an educator we do need to maintain a watchful eye on our students.

My problem with the Wiki is that the information one puts in (unless well referenced) is just an opinion or something that has worked for them. I have seen too many wikis that are glorified blogs.
